About COMSA
COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala Sociedad Anónima) is a pioneering coffee cooperative based in Marcala, Honduras. Founded in 2001, the cooperative now supports more than 1,200 farming members while investing heavily in sustainable agriculture, organic farming education, and community development.
The cooperative is known throughout specialty coffee for its focus on soil health, farmer education, and environmentally responsible production. Many farms sit at elevations between 1,300–1,500 meters above sea level in the Montecillos region, where cooler temperatures help produce dense, flavorful coffee cherries.
